Stacy came to Canada most recently from the Historic Landmark Town of Telluride, Colorado where she worked at Tommy Hein Architects. THA is the largest firm in the region specializing in residential architecture, real estate investment and interior design. Her work with THA ran the gamut from project feasibility to Autocad work to asset management. One of her paramount achievements was a record setting and complex public approval for 100,000 SF multi-family project involving affordable housing and historic preservation on a sensitively located parcel. With a specialization in Urban Design and Urban Development Planning, her background and travel experiences have fueled a passion for land use issues and resilient community planning. This fall, in conjunction with her academic studies, she is working with Hynes Development, Inc. a research based development company out of West Vancouver on a social sustainability in village communities. This past summer, Stacy spent three-months as an intern working at the New York City Department of City Planning in the Office of the Chief Urban Designer, which concluded with a special presentation to the Planning and Zoning Commission on her urban design research. Her quick mind and enthusiasm for learning make it easy for Stacy to develop new skills, carrying out tasks quickly and effectively. She enjoys challenges particularly involving the synthesis of multifaceted components, a process particularly suited to the role of a planner. Personally effected by the challenges of affordable housing in a small mountain community, Stacy became involved with local citizen boards in order to give representation to young working residents, serving as an elected commissioner for the Telluride Planning and Zoning Commission, and as Chairperson for the Ophir Planning and Zoning Commission. Other past experiences that have contributed to her skill set include: a strong academic background in Literature and Writing during her BA at New York University (2003); non-profit work to establish first green building code in San Miguel County; NOLS Environmental Education in Baja Mexico. Please review her CV for a complete list of work experience. Personal interests include hiking, sailing, swimming, biking, skiing, traveling, and generally being outdoors. She is interested in architecture and the arts and interested in developing a deeper grasp on the nuances of timeless design.
