I transitioned into SCARP after finishing my BA across the street in the Department of Geography in 2009. Before coming to UBC, I received a Certificate in Recording Arts and a Diploma in Audio Engineering at the Centre for Digital Imaging and Sound in Burnaby, BC. I have a wide range of experience that I bring to SCARP: Audio engineering and acoustic ecology, energy conservation education, social marketing development and research, eco-tourism management, alternative energy and resource management research. I've always been passionate about alternative energy, ecosystem management and media communications. For me, SCARP is a place to understand and develop methods for integrating the management of resources, transportation, land use, and energy. Since coming to SCARP, I have also developed an interest in the use of multimedia in planning, with a particular interest in the use of participatory filmmaking and social media to encourage deep thought about the water and energy crises. I'm not far from home at UBC, and if you can't find me at SCARP, I'm out exploring my beautiful province by land, sea and snow!
