Masters Graduating Awards

Each year several awards are given to students graduating from our Masters degree. The SCARP Awards committee makes decisions based on academic excellence. The recommendations are sent to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

172 American Institute of Certified Planners Prize – A certificate is offered by the American Institute of Certified Planners to an outstanding graduating student in Community & Regional Planning. In addition, the School of Community & Regional Planning offers a $1,200 prize to the winner.

04813 H. Peter Oberlander Medal and Prize – A $1,200 prize accompanied by a medal has been endowed in honour of H. Peter Oberlander, the founding Director of the School of Community and Regional Panning and subsequently the founding Director of the Centre for Human Settlements. The prize is awarded for academic excellence in a Master’s program in Land Policy, Environmental Conservation or Urban or Regional Planning and is made on the recommendation of the School in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

4867 Real Estate Foundation Award in Community & Regional Planning – the Real Estate Foundation offers a $1,000 award to a graduate student in the School of Community & Regional Planning. It is awarded to a student who exhibits excellence in academic, professional and community activities in community planning and/or real property development, and is made on the recommendation of the School in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
